Introduction

PrayerFast ("the App") is developed and operated by Axiosware LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data with transparency and care. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

By using PrayerFast, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect the information provided through your chosen sign-in method:

Sign in with Apple: Your name (if you choose to share it) and a unique, private relay email address generated by Apple. Apple may provide us with a private relay email rather than your actual email address, depending on your Apple ID settings.

Sign in with Google: Your name, email address, and profile information associated with your Google account.

We store your display name and a unique user identifier (UID) to personalize your experience. You may update your display name at any time within the App.

Tradition & Preference Data

During onboarding, you select your Christian tradition (e.g., Eastern Orthodox, Catholic, Coptic, Armenian, Maronite, Chaldean, Ethiopian, Syriac, Eritrean, or Assyrian Church of the East), your specific rite or subgroup, and your motivations for using the App. This information is stored to configure your fasting calendar, scripture readings, saint quotes, and meal suggestions.

Fasting Logs

If you choose to log your daily fasting, we store records including whether you kept the fast, which food categories you consumed, any personal notes, your adherence level, the fasting level for that day, and the date and time of the log entry. This data is stored under your user account and is used to calculate streaks and provide personal insights.

Reflection Journal Entries

The App includes a daily reflection journal where you may record your thoughts, select an emotional state, track fasting adherence, and note foods consumed. These entries are stored under your user account and are used to display your reflection history, emotional insights, and streaks. Journal content is personal and private to your account.

Device & Technical Data

We may collect standard technical information such as device type, operating system version, and app version for the purpose of ensuring compatibility, debugging issues, and improving the App experience. We do not collect device identifiers for advertising purposes.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide the core App experience — display today's fasting rule, daily scripture, saint quotes, fasting meal suggestions, and calendar data based on your selected tradition.

Personalize your journey — track fasting streaks, reflection streaks, emotional insights, and adherence patterns over time.

Send notifications — if you opt in, deliver morning fasting reminders and evening reflection prompts. Notifications are scheduled locally on your device and can be disabled at any time in Settings.

Power the home screen widget — display today's fasting rule on your iOS home screen using data stored in a shared App Group container on your device.

Manage subscriptions — determine whether you have an active PrayerFast Pro subscription to unlock premium features such as Prayer Mode, weekly saint quotes, and fasting meal inspiration.

Improve the App — understand usage patterns and diagnose technical issues to make PrayerFast better for everyone.

Third-Party Services

PrayerFast uses the following third-party services:

Firebase (Google) — We use Firebase Authentication to securely manage sign-in, and Cloud Firestore to store your account data, fasting logs, and reflection entries. Firebase may collect certain technical data as described in Google's Privacy Policy.

Superwall — We use Superwall to manage our in-app subscription paywall and determine subscription status. Superwall may collect anonymized usage data related to paywall interactions. See Superwall's Privacy Policy.

Apple (Sign in with Apple & App Store) — We use Sign in with Apple for authentication and Apple's StoreKit for subscription management. Apple's privacy practices are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Google Sign-In — If you choose to sign in with Google, your authentication is handled by Google's identity services. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Vercel Analytics — Our marketing website (this site) uses Vercel Analytics for anonymous, aggregated page view data. No personal information is collected on this website.

Data Storage & Security

Your account data, fasting logs, and reflection entries are stored securely in Google Cloud Firestore, which provides encryption at rest and in transit. Your data is associated with your authenticated user ID and is accessible only when you are signed in to your account.

Certain data (such as your selected theme, notification preferences, and subscription status) is stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage mechanisms (UserDefaults and App Group containers). This data does not leave your device.

Widget data (today's fasting rule, level, and display color) is shared between the main app and the widget extension through a secure App Group container on your device. This data is not transmitted to any server.

Advertising & Tracking

PrayerFast does not display advertisements. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers. We do not use tracking technologies for advertising purposes. We do not build advertising profiles based on your activity.

Notifications

PrayerFast may request permission to send you local push notifications. If you opt in, the App schedules morning notifications (reminding you of today's fasting rule) and evening notifications (prompting you to log your daily reflection). Notifications are generated and scheduled entirely on your device. You can enable or disable notifications at any time in the App's Settings or through your iOS device settings. We do not use remote push notifications or send notifications from our servers.

Children's Privacy

PrayerFast is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete such information.

Your Rights & Data Control

You have full control over your data in PrayerFast:

Access & Update: You can view and update your display name and tradition selection at any time within the App's Settings.

Re-select Tradition: You can reset your tradition selection from Settings, which clears your current configuration and takes you through onboarding again.

Sign Out: You can sign out of your account at any time. Your data remains stored and will be restored when you sign back in.

Delete Account: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data (including fasting logs, reflection entries, and profile information) from within the App's Settings. This action is irreversible. When you delete your account, all data stored in Firestore under your user ID is permanently removed, your Firebase Authentication account is deleted, all locally stored preferences and notification schedules are cleared, and your Superwall subscription identity is reset.

Data Portability: If you would like a copy of your data, please contact us at the email address below and we will provide it in a reasonable timeframe.

Subscription & Payments

PrayerFast offers an optional paid subscription (PrayerFast Pro) that unlocks premium features including Prayer Mode, weekly saint quotes, and fasting meal inspiration. Subscriptions are processed and managed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not collect, process, or store any payment information such as credit card numbers or billing addresses. Subscription status is determined through Apple's StoreKit and Superwall's SDK. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings.

Data Retention

We retain your account data, fasting logs, and reflection entries for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently deleted from our systems. We do not retain backups of deleted user data. Local data stored on your device (preferences, widget data) is cleared when you delete the App or delete your account.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
